Linda McLean (Board Member)

Linda McLean was born and raised in the city of Detroit. As an educator for 39 years, she spent 15 years teaching in Detroit, and 24 years in the suburban school district of Walled Lake. Her educator experience included K – 5th grade, art education, and eleven years as the School Library Media Specialist. Linda is the author of two children’s books: The Heidelberg Project – A Street of Dreams (2007), and Wanda and Winky which has just been published. Linda has also written books for teachers titled Reading Buddies Bloom, Continental Press, 1997.Ms. McLean enjoys travel, spending time communing with nature, kayaking, artistic endeavors, singing with community groups, reading, and writing. She has painted three Little Free Libraries for her local community. Linda has become a board member with Hospitality House in Walled Lake, and also runs a chapter of the Dining For Women national organization that works to eliminate poverty in third world countries. Linda is the mother of three grown children and grandmother of nine. Many hours of her time are spent enjoying the company of her loving family.
